This is our home – welcome to ’t Hof

Let us introduce ourselves. We are the Bouwman family: Lennard, Marjanne and our children. We’re proud to live on this beautiful corner of Zeeland, on the island of Tholen, in the middle of the vast polder. This is where you’ll find Hof van Philipsland – ’t Hof. A special place that is much more to us than just a lovely location: this is our home.

Together with our children, horses, dogs and cats we enjoy life on the farmyard every day. The peace, the space and the nature around us make this place special to us. And that daily life on ’t Hof is something we love to share with our guests.

Here we keep our stud farm, where we breed, keep and train dressage horses with great passion. In spring the yard is extra special when new foals are born. A wonderful sight and one of the many moments that make life on ’t Hof so special.

Sometimes a curious horse stands by the fence and the yard is buzzing with life. At other times it is wonderfully quiet and all you hear is the wind and the sounds of nature. From the yard you look out over the fields and meadows towards the dyke, behind which the beautiful Oosterschelde lies.

Because we’re lucky to have more space here than we need ourselves, and our hospitality kept calling, we decided not to keep this special place just to ourselves. So in the spring of 2026 we took the step of starting Mini Camping Hof van Philipsland. A place where we can welcome others and let them enjoy what we cherish here every day: the peace, the space, the nature and the Zeeland outdoor life.

Life on the farm

The horses are the soul of the farm. They graze in the meadows around the grounds, every spring foals are born and in season you’ll regularly see them in training. Around the yard: the characteristic Zeeland barn, two cheerful dogs and children playing freely.

Night on the farm

Because Hof van Philipsland lies in the middle of the polder, away from other buildings, it gets truly dark here at night. No light pollution — only the moon and the stars.

It gives a special feeling. A sparkling starry sky, a full moon or just a sliver of it. And in recent years we were even treated to the northern lights above the farm.
